Luke started out on the tools as a qualified landscaper before diving headfirst into workforce solutions. He’s worked across multiple industries, managed large contractor teams, and built recruitment systems that deliver practical results. At Trial By Fire, Luke oversees strategy, client relationships, fulfilment systems and overall growth. He knows what a job-ready candidate looks like and doesn’t waste time with BS. He’s the engine behind the scenes making sure the whole machine runs smooth and honest.
James Hall

James is the trade authority behind Trial By Fire. A qualified carpenter and director of Onestop Shopfitting & Joinery, he’s been on the tools for years delivering high-end residential work, shopfitting installs and custom cabinetry. He knows the pressure of tight deadlines, picky clients and finding reliable workers. James brings that insight to every placement. He still runs Onestop day-to-day while supporting the recruitment business with technical vetting and client guidance. He’s your go-to when you want advice from someone who actually understands the trade.
Arif Imran

Arif brings real trade business experience to his role. He previously owned and ran an upholstery business, managing everything from quoting and production to customer service and operations. That experience shaped how he approaches client relationships today. At Trial By Fire, Arif leads new business development, cold outreach, and sales strategy. He’s responsible for bringing new clients on board, running campaigns, and making sure our message reaches the right people. He knows what it's like to run a small business, and that insight drives the way he sells and supports.
Melissa Caris

Melissa brings more than twenty years of experience in service coordination and customer management across the fire protection and technical trades industries. She’s worked alongside fire technicians, project teams, and service managers, overseeing maintenance, compliance, and defence contracts from start to finish. She knows how the industry runs and what it takes to keep it safe, compliant, and efficient. At Trial By Fire, she leads Client relationships and manages the accounts.

Tara brings more than a decade in furniture manufacturing as an upholstery specialist, working her way up through production, dispatch, administration, and management. She knows the industry inside out, having worn many hats and built a complete understanding of what it takes to deliver quality craftsmanship. At Trial By Fire, she uses that knowledge to source and place skilled upholstery and furniture professionals, making sure our clients get people who can hit the ground running. Tara is thorough, trade-savvy, and committed to getting the right fit every time.
