Metal Trades & Fabrication Recruitment Across Australia and New Zealand
Trial By Fire Recruitment helps fabrication, manufacturing and engineering businesses find permanent staff across welding, metal fabrication, production, supervision and project delivery.
We work with businesses across Australia and New Zealand looking for skilled people who understand the work, the materials, the standards and the pressure that comes with delivering quality work safely and on time.
From boilermakers, welders and sheet metal workers through to supervisors, estimators, project managers and production leaders, we focus on finding people who can genuinely do the job and fit the business.

We Understand the Work Behind the Job Title
Metal trades cover a wide range of skills.
A welder experienced in structural steel may have a very different background from someone working with stainless or aluminium.
A sheet metal worker in manufacturing may not have the same experience as someone working across custom fabrication or site installation.
A boilermaker may be strong across heavy fabrication, but not necessarily suited to detailed workshop work.
That is why we look beyond the title.
We ask about the materials they have worked with, the welding processes they know, the type of fabrication they have completed, the drawings they can interpret, the machinery they have used and the environments they have worked in.
We want to understand what they have actually done, not just what is written on the resume.

The Best People Are Often Already Working
Experienced fabricators and welders are not always sitting on job boards waiting to be found.
The strongest tradespeople are often already working, producing quality work and keeping someone else's workshop or project moving.
They may not be actively applying, but that does not mean they would ignore the right opportunity.
We actively approach people in the market, build relationships and create conversations with candidates who may never have seen your advertisement.
That gives you access to a wider market than applications alone.
